The Problem

An outdated design

With Virtru conducting a site-wide design revamp, I was tasked to redesign their Contact Us page to add to their overall revamp.

With Virtru’s past Contact Us page design, there were a lot of flaws such as the clunkiness, clashing colors, and not enough pathways for customers to take when wanting to contact the company (i.e. did they need tech support, sales support, general support, etc.).

How Might we

revamp the contact us page to be more seamless and visually cohesive?

I observed what other companys’ Contact Us pages looked like; some were very simple while others filled up the empty space with credentials. I also researched ways I could redesign the contact form itself so that it would be more clean and seamless.

At the same time, however, I kept the site-wide design revamp in the back of my mind as I started ideating.

what do others do?

The research

Using components of the site-wide design revamp, I experimented with different layouts, keeping simplicity and cleanliness in mind, as that was the recurring theme across the site revamp.

We wanted to display our credentials in a more simplistic way, which is why we opted for the client logos to be a single color. Additionally, the form was contained in a rectangular space to provide some figure-ground.

ideating & Mockups

Endless streams of ideas

After the design and layout of the new page was decided amongst the team, the next step was to direct users to the right support area such as general, sales, tech, customer services, etc.

To properly navigate the users, we initially decided to implement buttons to direct users to the correct support site. However, we thought it was better to incorporate hooks and a direct website link to clearly identify what users would need.

Overall Chosen Design

With final adjustments to the overall design such as button lengths and verbiage, the high-fidelity mockup got sent to our web developer who then made it live on the site.

It was surreal to see something I designed become part of the high-impact site redesign.
